Many chemicals absorb light in either the ultra violet region of the electromagnetic spectrum or visible spectrum. The absorption is caused by the changing electron energy levels in the molecule and is therefore characteristic of the molecular structure. This technique is useful for performing quantitative concentration measurements of organic species.

UV and Visible Applications include:

  • Spectrophotometric

  • Colorimetric measurements

  • Specular reflection measurement

  • Trace organics analysis - monitoring

An extensive library of colorimetric and organic analysis methods are available for a wide range of applications these include:

  • Clinical analysis

  • Colour analysis

  • Trace pollutant analysis
