Bomb Calorimetric Analysis
Bomb calorimetry for combustion reactions, we often enclose all reactants in an explosive-proof steel container, called the bomb whose volume does not change during a reaction. The bomb is then submerged in water or other liquid that absorbs the heat of reaction. The heat capacitor of the bomb is then measured using the same technique as other calorimeters.
Uses for Bomb Calorimeter include calorific measurements for:
- Coal and coke, all varieties and types can be analysed
- Fuel oil, both heavy and light varieties can be analysed
- Gasoline, all motor fuels and aviation type jet fuels can be analysed
- Combustible wastes and refuse disposal analysis
- Foodstuffs and supplements for human nutrition analysis
- Forage crops and supplements for animal nutrition analysis
- Building materials analysis
- Explosives and heat powder analysis
- Rocket fuels and related propellant analysis
- Thermodynamic studies of combustible materials analysis
- Energy balance studies in ecology analysis
