Analytical Testing Services

Attention: open in a new window. PDF

Rhys Biotech Ltd. offers an extremely wide range of analytical testing services for a broad range of samples including liquids, raw materials, finished products and solids to completed products.  We are able to offer a combination of techniques, which can be related to a particular problem, or for research purposes and can offer advise on the best approach. We address customer's specific requirements in a reliable and cost effective way.

Some of our analytical techniques and testing services include:

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric Analysis

Atomic Absorbance Spectrophotometer is used for quantitative elemental and trace elemental analysis after dissolving the material into solution. It is frequently used for trace additives, assay of metallic alloys and some non-metals after the preparation of wet chemicals.

Chemical Product Deformulation and Reformulation

Chemical product deformulation to determine their composition, determine how they are manufactured and replace or improve matrices to stimulate or improve the products performance.

FTIR ATR Spectrophotometric Analysis

FTIR or IR is ideal for quantification and identification of organic species at trace levels.  These can include polymers & plastics,  binders, paints, adhesives as well as unknown organic compounds, stains and solvents, even when tiny amounts of sample are only available.  Extraction of solvents allow for contaminant and delamination investigations techniques.

Gas Chromatography - Mass Spec (GC-MS) Analysis

GC - Mass Spec used for trace organics, chemical deformulation and contamination analysis as well as Health and Safety monitoring of organic species. Further applications include environmental monitoring and clean up, criminal forensic, illegal narcotics, food, beverage and perfume analysis and medicine.

High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Analysis

HPLC is used for analysis of ions in liquids, trace organics and quantitative and qualitative identification of individual compounds in a given mixture.  Applications include finding presence of sulphates, evidence of exposure to corrosive environments, nitrates, chlorides and fluorides etc.

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS) Analysis

Is highly sensitive and capable of the determination of a range of metals and several non-metals at concentrations below one part in 1012 - part per trillion. Based on coupling together an inductively coupled plasma as a method of producing ions with a mass spectrometer as a method of separating and detecting the ions.

Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) Analysis

ICP-OES is an analytical technique used for the detection of trace metals. It is a type of emission spectroscopy that uses the inductively coupled plasma to produce excited atoms and ions that emit electromagnetic radiation at wavelengths characteristic of a particular element.

Ion Chromatography Analysis

Ion-exchange chromatography is a process used for separation of ions and polar molecules based on their charge. It is used for almost any kind of charged molecule including large proteins, small nucleotides and amino acids. The solution injected is usually called a sample, and the individually separated components are called analytes. It is usually used in protein purification, water analysis, and quality control.

NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) Analysis

NMR Spectroscopy is available for the simultaneous multicomponent analysis of a range of specimens and products, including (1) active agents, by-products and trace organic impurities in pharmaceuticals and healthcare products, and (2) food constituents, e.g., the provision of full fatty acid profiles, glycerol backbone substitutional status and lipid oxidation product concentrations in used or unused culinary oils (or further lipidic food matrices).

Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA)

TGA process utilizes stoichiometry and heat ratios to determine percentage of mass of a solute. Test and analysis is achieved by increasing the temperature of a sample gradually whilst plotting weight against temperature. TGA is employed in research and testing to characterize materials such as polymers, to determine degradation temperatures, absorbed moisture content of materials, the level of inorganic and organic components in materials, decomposition points of explosives, and solvent residues.

UV Visible Spectrophotometric Analysis

UV/Vis is suitable for trace colorimetric, organic analysis and specular reflection measurements including a diverse range of wet chemical preparation and analytical techniques.

Wet Chemistry Analysis and General Laboratory Analysis

This includes our other capabilities and facilities available in the laboratory including wet chemistry analysis, deformulation, reverse engineering and  particle size measurement.
